Accessibility Statement

We at TorchToday are committed to making our website accessible to people with disabilities. As a student-run site, we’re continuously learning and improving, and we want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable experience on our platform.

What web accessibility is

An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse the site with the same or a similar level of ease and enjoyment as other visitors. Accessibility can be achieved through the system on which the site operates and with the support of assistive technologies such as screen readers, magnifiers, or keyboard navigation.

Accessibility adjustments on this site

We have adapted TorchToday in accordance with WCAG 2.1 guidelines, and we aim for Level AA compliance. The following accessibility adjustments have been implemented:

  • Used the Wix Accessibility Wizard to identify and fix potential accessibility issues.

  • Set the site language to English.

  • Ensured the content order of pages is logical and intuitive.

  • Applied clear heading structures on all pages.

  • Added alternative text to images.

  • Implemented color combinations that meet the required contrast ratios.

  • Reduced the use of motion and animations that could trigger discomfort.

  • Ensured that videos, audio, and downloadable files are accessible where possible.

Declaration of partial compliance with the standard due to third-party content [only add if relevant]

Some content on TorchToday is hosted by third-party services (like Wix apps, embedded videos, or social media feeds). The accessibility of these pages depends on the third-party providers, and we therefore declare partial compliance for those pages.
